Thank You So Much

I truly believe you can't have enough thank you cards in your stash.  Even though if you talk to my parents, they feel no one writes thank you cards anymore especially the younger generation😊

I am a fan of big sentiments for cards and Papertrey Ink's Paper Clippings:"Thank you" stamp set fits the bill!

I created 2 cards using the big sentiment. On one I used only the Papertrey Ink stamp set for both the background and the sentiment. On the other I paired Catherine Pooler Designs Stamp of Approval "Everyday Mod" stamp set (from the Perfect Reason Collection) as the background with the Papertrey Ink huge sentiment.

The Everyday Mod Stamp Set is from the Perfect Reason Stamp of Approval Box. I tried to find a link but the collection is sold out, it was a great collection!

Since I couldn't give you the link to the stamps, I will insert the link for the inks:-)

Irish Happy Birthday Card

Couldn't resist making a non-traditional birthday card for a friend. Her birthday is the day before St. Patrick's Day.  I love a matching envelope but I used too thick of a black ink to make the shamrock "balloons". Next time I would use a thinner point pen.
On this card I was trying a technique that Jennifer McGuire used called "Layered Stenciling".  Here is the link to that post http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2017/03/stencil.html

When I inked over the shamrock stencil, I felt the white behind it was too stark of a contrast and decided to go with the dots to break it up.  Also, I added dimension by popping up (on foam) the flag that is embossed with the sentiment "It's your day!"   It is hard to see that it is raised off the card.

Here is just the card.

Products are listed below:

The girl with the drink and the shamrocks on the envelope is from the My Creative Time set called "You're My Lucky Charm"

The black "Cheers" is from the Reverse Confetti set called "Clink"

The embossed "It's Your Day!" sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp stamp set called "Happy and Smile"

The stencils are too old to find a link to the products😊

SoSuzy Sessions are worth every cent!

I cannot tell you how valuable the SoSuzy Sessions are to a person in the crafting industry! Let me tell you I wouldn't have started this blog without the class on Social Media.  Also, because of what she taught in that class, I have already had one of my cards featured on a mass email from theStampNation.com for the Foundations Box Catherine Pooler created.

Suzanne Moore really walks you through step-by-step in her "Social Media" or "How to Be on a Design Team" - both classes I highly recommend! Suzanne has a brand new class "How to Price, Market and Sell Your Hand-made Cards" coming soon. I have already signed up!  I suggest you do the same...

Below is the link to get you to the main page of SoSuzy Sessions.

Wish Upon a Star...

I finally took the plunge and made a night sky scene using distress inks.  What I couldn't get over is how many colors go into making a cosmos panel for a card.

I lined up all the colors using mini distress ink pads because I didn't think I would have enough room on my table for the original size ink pads!!

The Distress colors used were: Picked Raspberry, Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves, Mermaid Lagoon, Black Soot

After color blending the background I used a paint brush to flick white spots of Picket Fence Distress Paint all over the panel.
I waited until the next morning to heat emboss the white star onto the panel.
The "Make a wish" stamp came from a Reverse Confetti stamp set called "Folded Tag Sentiment".
I ran the coordinating confetti cuts through my Ebosser die cut machine to get the tag for the sentiment.
Then I raised it up with some foam dots.
I applied the entire panel onto a black card base. Done!

And a close up
