So Suzy Sessions Mother's Day Blog Hop

If you just came from Victoria's Blog then you're in the right place!

This blog hop is happening because I met some amazing women while taking So Suzy Sessions classes. These classes taught me how to have a social media presence and connected me to some very crafty ladies!

The world is full of many types of moms,
the traditional type such as Mrs. Brady and Betty Crocker,
then there's the peace-loving, stargazing, yoga rocker.

This card is for that mom! It's for the mom whose head is not in a cookbook, it's in the stars or in a downward dog! No matter what, when it come to moms they are all special!  I am sharing a non-traditional Mother's Day shaker card.

This Mother's Day card is for the mom
who likes to shake it up!

I, like many, have jumped on the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink bandwagon. On my project I used the 4 colors -
Fired BrickFossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, and Broken China I find these inks so fun to play with when inking up a card!

To make the shaker element, I used 2 products from Impression Obsession "Shake It" line. I used the shaker card pouches and the cardstock overlay.

To add some interest around the circle I heat-embossed a white mandala using Hero Arts White Embossing PowderThe Wishing you the best day and Mom sentiment stamps are both from The Ton Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Thanks! This technique really pops on a card. However, make sure to have a clean towel of some sort because you need to remember to wipe off oxide ink from the heat embossed areas. I have forgotten to do this in the past and it wasn't as sharp a result.

  32. So that bandwagon has been teasing me in the distance but I'm just not sure. I haven't ended up using the regular distress inks like I thought I would when I bought them and I'm afraid that these will just be something else that takes up more room in my very limited space. But wow, when I see background like this it's hard to resist.
